Continuous Effect
A "Continuous Effect" monster" is an Effect Monster that typically comes into play as soon as the monster is successfully Summoned, and its effect is applied as long as it is face-up on the field. "Continous Effect Monsters" DO NOT start a chain, nor activate by means of the player, but are applied by its presence when it first touches the field.
Example: "Jinzo" is a "Continous Effect" monster, so its effect to negate face-up Trap Cards and prevent the activation of Trap Cards, are applied the moment it is successfully Summoned. Therefore, your opponent cannot activate such Trap Cards like "Bottomless Trap Hole" or "Torrential Tribute"
The only 1 exception to this rule are Counter Trap Cards that can negate a monster's Summon, such as "Solemn Judgement", and "Solemn Warning" Their effects are to prevent a monster's Summon from taking place, and are the only cards that can be played against cards like "Jinzo".
"Continuous Effect" monsters vary depending on the card's effect and its form of play, for example; "Continuous Effect" monsters with effects that apply at a specific time while face-up on the field.
Example: "Ancient Gear Golem"'s effect that inflicts Piercing Damage and its effect that prevents the opponent from activating Spell/Trap Cards when it attacks during the Battle Phase is applied at that moment.
There are also "Continuous Effect" monsters that can apply their effects even during the chain/resoltuion of another card effect such as "Bountiful Artemis". Its effect allows the player to draw 1 card each time a "Counter Trap Card" resolves during the chain. This effect is not to be confused with an activating effect. It does not trigger its effect to draw 1 card when a Counter Trap Card activates, however, appiles its effect allowing the player to draw WHEN the Counter Trap Card resolves.

Trap Cards, and their effects, cannot be activated. The effects of all face-up Trap Cards on the field are negated.

Cannot be Special Summoned. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing Battle Damage to your opponent. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.
